You have to take the time and go to this site and read their story. This shelter was started by a single man named: Randy Grim. He was feeding dozens of stray dogs on a daily basis and taking in ones that were sick or injured. This is amazing story that needs to be told.

I know there are shelters here closer to home but this one I saw on TV and it absolutely got to me. It brought me back from the first news of Hurricane Katrina and how devastating it was. My heart went out to the families that lost their homes however I was extremely crushed hearing about all the family pets - dog and cats that were left behind. I couldn't imagine being forced to do such a thing. (The image that is embedded in my memory was one in the newspaper which showed 3 dogs on top of a dog house stranded surrounded by water with no one to help or rescue them.) So it was then I realized watching this single man take on dozens of strays feeding them daily and taking them in when he could when they got sick or injured, I knew instantly it was an organization I wanted Lil Miss Katie's to help donate to. Their story is astounding. He's credited with saving 5,000 feral dogs to date...and his passion has now grown into a life rescuing center. All made possible by people that cared enough to donate their time, money and resources.
