Lil Miss Katie's Custom Handmade Jewelry Designs

Lil Miss

Lil Miss

Graphic, Web and Jewelry Designer and Artist...I'm inspired by all things creative. When I started jewelry making as a side hobby over 5 years ago, I became obsessed with the the craft and everything about it. Design, colors, textures, details and technique. I now not only make pieces I enjoy to wear but have hand created thousands of pieces for people all over the world.

Thank you so much for taking some time to getting to know a lil about myself. I hope you've found something here you love or to inspire you!

Update - It's A Boy! Busy Mommy!

I'm letting you know my family has been blessed with a healthy baby boy! Father and daughter are so thrilled. He's been such a blessing and as expected very demanding of my time. I know I've thanked everyone on Facebook about your patience and understanding of my maternity leave...although I haven't technically left. I'm still not on top of my game with being able to get to my orders made up and out right away to my customers as I'm usually known for...this has been the hardest adjustment for me to have to accept.

Wire Wrapped - Gypsy Style Earrings

Here are my newest creations and style of wire wrapped earrings that will be soon available for sale.

As soon as I get some free time to get them up on my Etsy Shop! These are done in simi-precious stone chips...mostly shown in gold but will have silver options as well.

I'll also be excited to share with you a couple of my new crochet pieces. I love being able to change up what I'm creating on any given day! However, today wasn't so much for creating it was my "nesting day". Let me tell you I was all about NESTING today. I couldn't stop organizing, putting things away, was a bit much. To the point I couldn't stop myself even knowing I had a million and one other things to do.

For now a sneak peek at these lovelies will have to do for now.

DIY Project - Ottoman Slipcover

Amazing Turquoise 2010: Ottoman Slipcover

Tutorial and Image Brought to you by: Written By: Liz Johnson

Put your feet up and ponder this age-old question: what's the difference between a footstool and an ottoman? Besides the fact that an ottoman sounds way fancier than a footstool, the only real differences are: 1) an ottoman is always upholstered (footstools needn't be), and 2) sometimes an ottoman has another job: large ones fill in as coffee tables and hollow ones can open up and act as storage boxes. Our ottoman was a favorite kitty perch and had definitely seen better days. Why buy new when you can make a simple cover? Home décor sewing to the rescue!

This amazing tutorial can be found here!

DIY Project - Story Book Fabric Pendant Pattener

Cute Story Book Fabric Pendant Banner!

Image and Tutorial Brought to you By:

This super cute Alphabet Bunting tutorial not only creates a banner that looks great, it's also a secret learn-to-spell game. All the pennants have a front and back so you can put a different letter on each side. And, they're easy to string and re-string, so you can make lots and spell out a new word every day. May we suggest: I LOVE SEW4HOME?! This dandy little decoration is just one of the eight projects in our new Storybook Lil' Boy's Room Series sponsored by Moda Fabrics and featuring the nostalgic Lil' Rascals collection by Chloe's Closet .

Here's another one of those I've got to give this a try soon as I have some time. Right...isn't that always the case!? I would really love to make these up with my daughters name "Dakota" and my soon to be here son "Ayden". I think these would make for great room accents and seem to be fairly easy to make. In the mean time here is the link if you're interested in getting started with one for your child's room. Click here for the tutorial.

Fun with Polymer Clay!

Polymer Clay My Most Recent Creative Outlet!

So I've been playing around with Polymer Clay for a while now and have been wanting to share with you some of my latest creations. I'm not sure how these will fit into my shop...but I have to say there has to be a place for them. I'm not sure how much of a seller item they will or would be as of yet.

As you well know I love all sorts of mediums and ways to create jewelry. I like to dabble. I even last night crocheted my first necklace which I will share with you soon. For now here are some creations in which I think I'll be giving away for free. Some to be for the month of October and Halloween! It'll be here before we know it! I'll also be posting a page on all things Halloween!

If you would let me know what you think of these little creations. I really like how versatile polymer clay is and how it brings me back to my kid state and playing with play dough which is one thing my daughter is big into now.

Remember 911

A Day To Never Be Fogotten...

I believe it is so important Remember 911 and to think of the people that lost their lives and the Heroes that dedicated their lives in saving others that day. Here are a few items of artist's work that are dedicated to honoring our heroes and lives lost and forever touched by that day.

For many of us it is a moment in our lives we will never forget...we will remember the moment we saw the towers fall. I remember the exact moment of when I heard on the radio then saw on TV. It will be forever embedded in my mind.
