LDR Long Distance Relationship

LDR Long Distance Relationship LDR Long Distance Relationship

Over the weekend I decided to plunge into some ideas that I've been wanting to do for a long time now. (This LDR Long Distance Relationship Graphic being part of them.) In doing so, ended up enjoying my Sunday afternoon drawing and coloring with my daughter who was happy to sit and draw along side me.

When I starting this, I didn't have a lot of knowledge or know-how on how this process worked. All I knew was it was possible and lots of people were converting their hand drawn images through Photoshop and Illustrator to make them into vector images by scanning them in. I figured there had to be a simpler way than making each one a traced vector image by hand. That to me would take an eternity. With the drive of wanting to do this right now and some simple Google searching I found 2 Youtube videos and 1 webpage tutorial and I was all set. After doodling 4 pages of hand drawn graphics and before my littlest one was up and roaring from his nap, I decided to take my first page of drawings and take a jab at this whole new world of image converting and creating.

It was also my first time using the scanner on my brand new all in one dell printer. After a few tries and a couple failed attempts of some not so nice looking vectors I finally got the hang of it and was instantly hooked! If I had known how simple the process was...I would have done this a long time ago. That is to say "simple" does not mean that it wasn't time consuming but much more time effeciant than tracing over each image point by point by hand. Also I found this process to be a lot of fun and dare I say relaxing. It was actually liberating to me. I found that I can now bring my sketches to life in the computer world and make them useful! Wow what a concept! I really do get to have my cake and eat it too!

I've had this LDR (Long Distance Relationship) graphic idea on the brain for a long time and it just wouldn't go away. So it's wonderful to get it on paper...finally! Whew. What I love are that all the elements on here are all original and hand drawn and reusable elements to easily be changed out and edited to make this piece customizable. This might be similar to ones you've seen before but I wanted to add my own creative spin to this idea and decided to add the coordinates of the locations. There are so many ideas now coming to me and this freedom for me to now be able to create my own vector images without having to pay or to be on the search for comparable free ones...well it's a huge!

If you love the coordinates as a gift idea check out my handmade jewelry and custom gift pieces made for all kinds of long distance relationships. Go here to my shop and coordinates section.

Here are some very basic quick quotes I've come up with utilizing some of the imaging I drew up and converted to being vector images. They are very simple and not much to them but haven't had a lot of time to work with them. So hopefully will get better as time allows.

That's all I've created for now. Again super simple ones. I'll have these free to download as soon as I have a moment to get them available and uploaded to my site.

With this new found knowledge, it makes me wonder if there's more to it than just something "fun" for me to do. I've already created some great vector images with the few sketches I've already made up...the whole idea of this really excites me. I don't know if this is me saying LMK is taking another direction along with creating jewelry pieces or not.

For now I'll throw this out there and see if I get any response from it. Feedback would be great to get feelers if this direction is something worth entertaining or not. So let me know what you think of my new LDR graphic. Is it something I should start offering for LMK Services and Product..I've got several more variations of layouts and colors of this to come. Also will be playing around with quotes and wording! FUN! I feel so inspired! As always I hope that you do as well! Have a wonderful, creative, inspiring day!
